Are you ready for yet another major blockbuster for 2015? The latest one will be big, too. According to reports, Warner Bros. is going to officially announce a Superman-Batman movie for 2015 during its panel at Comic-Con today.
The news was first reported by The Los Angeles Times, which cited two anonymous sources close to the project. A Warner Bros. spokesperson said, “We don’t comment on rumors regarding these properties.”
The Hollywood Reporter also reported the news, citing sources as well.
The Superman and Batman film would be written by David S. Goyer, who wrote Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and worked with Christopher Nolan on his Dark Knight trilogy. However, that will be the only connection with Nolan’s films, since Christian Bale is definitely not playing Bruce Wayne again. So the Superman/Batman movie will have to introduce a new Batman.
However, Henry Cavill will be back to play Superman after taking the role in Man of Steel. That film has successfully rebooted Superman, bringing in $600 million worldwide since its June opening.
THR is also reporting that a Flash movie is planned for 2016 and Justice League for 2017.
Stay tuned for further updates on news from Comic-Con.
