After Chris Evans finishes the Captain America sequel, he will have some time off before heading back to the Marvel universe for Avengers 2. During his off-time, the actor will make his directorial debut with the indie project 1:30 Train.

According to Deadline, the film was written by Ron Bass and Wonderland Sound And Vision will fund. Evans has also signed on to star in the film, which is expected to be a romance similar to Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise. The couple in the film start out as strangers in Manhattan and use their own problems as a way to explore themselves and each other.

As Collider notes, although this is a small-scale project for Evans, he has shown off his acting skills in projects like The Iceman and the upcoming Snowpiercer. He’s also signed on for A Many Splintered Thing with Aubrey Plaza and Ashley Tisdale.

Evans will be seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which hits theaters on April 4, 2014. It’s the follow-up to 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger.

After he wraps 1:30 Train, he’ll start work on The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
