Machete don’t text and he don’t tweet, either. Yes, the moment all fans of Robert Rodriguez’s outrageous tribute to B-movies - Machete - has finally arrived. A new trailer for the sequel, Machete Kills is here and let’s just say that Danny Trejo totally kicks some ass.
The trailer features many of the actors who will be making guest appearances in the film, starting right away with Charlie Sheen - oops, we mean Carlos Estevez - as president. You can also spot Mel Gibson as the man who wants to blow up the planet and his team of deadly assassins, including Lady Gaga, Cuba Gooding Jr, Michelle Rodriguez and Sofia Vergara with a machine-gun bra.
Machete Kills was originally supposed to be released in September, but distributor Open Road has rescheduled it for Oct. 11.
The Machete concept was actually born in a fake trailer included between the two films that made up Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse double-feature. Rodriguez then expanded it into a film, which grossed $44 million worldwide on a $10.5 million budget in 2010.
