While there will be plenty of documentaries and television specials on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy this fall, as the country prepares to mark the 50th anniversary of the event, one movie takes a different perspective on that day in Dallas. It’s titled Parkland and the first trailer for the film was released on Tuesday.

Parkland and the trailer is filled with talented actors, starting off with Paul Giamatti as the man who filmed the shooting of President Kennedy. Marcia Gay Harden and Zac Efron play members of the hospital staff that try to revive Kennedy. Billy Bob Thornton and Jacki Weaver round out the cast.

The film focuses on how the assassination affects the lives of these people on Nov. 22, 1963. Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassin, also plays a key role in the film as his family comes to grips with his actions.

Peter Landesman wrote and directed Parkland, which Tom Hanks co-produced. It’s based on Reclaiming History: The Assassination Of President John F. Kennedy by Vincent Bugliosi.

Parkland opens on Sept. 20. You can check out the trailer below.
