The Calling frontman Alex Band is speaking out following his abduction this weekend explaining, “It's a horrifying feeling being held down and being helpless like that."

Band was abducted in Michigan while walking from his hotel room to a mini mart. The Calling singer was in Michigan for a music festival.

The 32-year-old singer explained the trauma he endured during his abduction with ABC News . Band suffered a lost tooth, a concussion and had 15 stitches put into his chin. When his abductors threw him from the van, Band suffered a fractured lower back.

"It's a horrifying feeling being held down and being helpless like that…I've never been in a fight in my life. I've never been hit. It sounds ridiculous but it's true,” he explained. "This was not just being hit. It was being blown to the head."

According to Band, the men robbed him at gunpoint and “started ripping everything out of my pockets and said take everything out. They stole my wallet and credit cards and my ID. They took my phone.” He notes that they demanded his “Hollywood money” taking $1,200.

Band explained that the men would have killed him, but he explained that he just found out that he was going to be a father.

He held the gun to my forehead and held me out of the door like that and that's when I said I just found out a few weeks ago that I'm going to be a dad," he said. "You do not need to go to the extent of killing me and making a child not have a father," Band recounted. "Then the guy said it's your lucky day. Kicked me out of the car and they drove off."

The investigation into Band’s abduction is still under investigation.
