The BBC has apologized for airing a British group’s music video that featured an image of Prince William with a penis drawn on his head.
According to E! News, the image was aired during BBC Breakfast, which interviewed a musical theater group called Barbershopera. They picked the group’s video for “I Could Have Married Kate,” which features one of the singers talking about how he wishes he had married Kate Middleton instead of Prince William. He has a collection of newspapers and on one, he’s drawn a penis and mustache on William’s face.
In the BBC’s apology, the broadcaster noted that a viewer had seen it in a tweet. It was shows “fleetingly.” The statement continued, “We failed to spot the offending material within it. We apologise for this.”
The Royal Family hasn’t said anything, but they were probably too busy with Kate and William’s new baby, George Alexander Louis, who was just born last week.
The palace has announced that William will make his first official appearance since showing off George on Aug. 14 at the Anglesey Show, where he will meet with young and catch some falconry displays. He’s also set to make a short speech.
