Brandy performed as the final act for an empty stadium in South Africa as part of a day-long festival.
Yahoo reports that the 90s R&B singer furiously left the stage of the First National Bank Stadium in Johannesberb after performing only two songs. Only 40 fans were in attendance for the concert at the end of the Nelson Mandela Sport and Culture Day on Saturday, which included rugby games, soccer games, and music. People were in high attendance throughout the day, but headed home shortly before Brandy took the stage.
According to DailyMail the stadium, which was packed all day long before Brandy's performance, holds 90,000 people. Fans had no idea about her surprise performance and left thinking the festivities were over.
EOnline reports that South African musician, Kabomo tweeted, "Brandy [just] performed to an empty stadium. With the stadium lights on." He added, "She sulked after two songs and walked off."
No statement about the event has been made by either Brandy nor the concert promoters.
