Bryan Cranston may have gotten his wish in the form of a ruthless, bald Superman villain.

According to Cosmic Book News, Cranston has been cast as Superman’s arch nemesis Lex Luthor in Warner Brothers’ upcoming Man of Steel sequel. This deal will have Cranston appearing in at least six movies which could be increased to ten.

Cranston already has several successful roles under his belt. His credits include Hal on Fox’s Malcolm in the Middle and Walter White in AMC’s Breaking Bad, for which he has won three Emmy Awards. He has also starred in numerous films, including Ben Affleck’s Oscar-winning drama, Argo.

E! Online notes that WB will not make an official announcement until after AMC airs the Breaking Bad series finale, on September 29th, in the hopes of riding the show’s success.

TheCelebrityCafe.com reported that Cranston expressed interest in the role earlier this month, saying that he believes Luthor is “misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.”

Hopefully, this casting news won’t spark controversy, like a more recent WB casting decision has done!
