Retired photographer Joseph Naso was found guilty on Tuesday of four first-degree murders.
The 79-year-old Californian is said to have slain four northern California prostitutes, starting approximately 40 years ago.
According to The Globe and Mail ,the murders have been dubbed the 'alphabet murders' due to the fact that the victims first and last names had matching letters.
Naso, who served as his own attorney, declined to testify in court without being allowed to give explanation. Prosecution has concluded that the victims were drugged, assaulted and then strangled before their bodies were disposed of.
According to Reuters, Maso still maintained that he hadn't killed anyone up until the point of conviction. He admitted to taking pictures of women in Nylons and even showed the pictures in court, but claims it was just that.
The jury of six men and six women began deliberating on Monday and unanimously concluded Naso was guilty on Tuesday. After a two-month trial, Naso now faces the possibility of death penalty.
