Like to keep up with popular games and apps? Well then surely you are already on board with the ever popular, Candy Crush Saga.

The game, developed by King, is available on Android, iPhone and Facebook for free. While it has been around since April 2012, it has become incredibly popular over the last few months. Stats from Factets.com show that the candy swiping game has gained 10 million users in the last month. Additionally, it’s currently the number one game played on Facebook and the number 3 game on iPhone and Android, according to AppData.com

It has an incredibly simple concept. Similar to formerly popular game Bejeweled, the point it to match 3 of kind or more candies in a row to complete objectives for different levels.

But what is it that makes it so addicting? Is it the fact that when you run out of lives you have to wait 30 minutes before a new one is given to you? Or that certain levels are so hard to beat you just refuse to give up? Or maybe it’s just plain something to do. Either way, this is an appropriate time to use the phrase “Everyone else is doing it.”

Even some celebs are in on the crazy candy moving trend.

Rob Schneider is not alone is his wait for lives. In an interview with the NY Times, King representative, Tommy Palm said that the game is played more than 6 million times a day on mobile devices. The multiplatform use of the game also adds to popularity. Players can see which of their friends are in on the game on Facebook and share lives or moves, adding to the steadily growing popularity.
