Chris Brown tweeted on Tuesday about his future plans—after the release of “X”, his upcoming LP, Brown plans to stop making music. “Don’t worry mainstream America. After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album,” he tweeted.

Just a few minutes later, he tweeted, “Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when I was 18. I’m cool & over it!”

Brown was referencing the 2009 assault of his girlfriend at the time, Rihanna. Since then, Brown has been in the media recently for other run-ins with the law, including being accused of assault by a woman in a nightclub in June and spending 45 minutes in jail on Monday for a hit and run.

“X” is set to be released on August 20. It has yet to be seen how Brown announcing his retirement plans will affect the sales of his album.
