McCanick, the final film starring the late Glee actor Cory Monteith, will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month. The film was one of several added by organizers on Tuesday.
The film has Monteith as a convict who was just released. However, narcotics cop McCanick, played by David Morse, is on his trail for an unknown reason. As the pursuit continues, it becomes clear that McCanick has deep issues that only Monteith’s character can help uncover. TheWrap notes that the film was directed by Josh C. Waller.
This is the second Monteith film to be added to the schedule. In July, organizers announced that All The Wrong Reasons, directed by Gia Milani, will also be screened.
According to The LA Times, the festival will also host the world premieres of Fading Gigolo with Woody Allen and the Errol Flynn biopic The Last of Robin Hood with Kevin Kline. Lee Sang-il’s remake of Unforgiven, Yurusarezaru Mono, will have its North American premiere in Toronto.
TIFF is set for Sept. 5-11.
