It looks like the force will not be with the fans at the D23 convention this weekend. Huffington Post reported that it was already stated by Disney CEO Bob Iger that they “aren't ready to share too many details just yet.” However, the attendees were still hoping for at least a title or some small hint of development.
Saturday, D23 had their panel on their live action Disney films set to come out. Disney Chairman Alan Horn kicked off the panel by talking about welcome Lucas Films into the Disney Family, that J.J Abrams will be director and that John Williams will be returning to score the film. Basically, he announced things that most fans were already aware of. Entertainment Weekly reported that Horn closed his speech by saying, “Horn closed, saying, “Look forward to Episode 7 in the summer of 2015. It’s going to be great. It’ll be great.”
Twitter was flooded with fans expressing their disappointment that they didn’t get anything about the new film.
