Eminem took a page out of fellow emcee Jay Z's playbook by announcing his new album via commercial. The difference was that Eminem chose to do it during the MTV Video Music Awards, while Jay Z announced his album during the NBA Finals. The new album will be called 'Marshall Mathers LP 2', and will be released in November.
He has yet to release a single from the new album, but that is coming on Tuesday reports Hotnewhiphop. The single is titled 'Berzerk' and although no other information has been provided regarding the song, it will be much anticipated.
Eminem recently released a new song titled 'Survival'. Many had hoped that this would be the first official single from his reported album, but it ended up being a song from the new Call of Duty game.
The new album, MMLPII, will be the sequel to the 2000 release which took home the grammy for best rap album. That album was also certified diamond in the U.S., meaning it sold over ten million copies domestically.
13 years later Slim Shady will be accompanied by a familiar collaborator, as Huffington Post reports that Dr. Dre, along with Rick Rubin will executive produce the new project.
Watch the commercial that aired on Sunday, at the beginning of the VMA's, below and look out for the new single 'Berzerk' to hold you over until November.
