Former Special Education teacher Summer Michelle Hansen of Corona, California faces a maximum sentence of 13 years in prison if she is convicted on 16 separate felonies for having sex with five underage male students.

She was arrested in June when a former student of Centennial High School told police that he had sex with her. At this point, authorities do not suspect that she had sex with any of her special education students.

The school district suspended her while they conducted their own investigation. School officials say that Hansen taught a life-skills class, but none of those students have accused her of sexual abuse, CBS Los Angeles reports.

Hansen was freed on $150,000 bail . She was due in court for her arraignment today.

“It surprises me that any 31-year-old adult, married woman is having sex with a child, teacher or otherwise,” parent Angela Thompson told Daily Mail .
