The funeral of Gia Allemand, a former contestant of The Bachelor, was held Thursday in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City.
The somber service was held at the Trinity Grace Church just over 30 minutes from the reality star's hometown of Howard Beach in Queens, New York. In attendance were 150 of Allemand’s close friends and family, as reported by The New Your Daily News,including her boyfriend, Ryan Anderson.
Anderson mourned the loss of the 29 year old former Maxim model in a statement to Us Weekly.
"I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends, and fans," the Pelicans player said in the statement. "Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out, and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile."
Allemand’s mother, Donna Micheletti and father, Eugene Allemand were seen giving their tearful goodbyes as well as The Bachelor star Jake Pavelka.
Allemand died at University Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana after complications from an attempted suicide. She was found by her boyfriend in her apartment after hanging herself with a vacuum cord after the couple had an argument.
