Kaitlyn Hunt, the gay 19-year-old Florida girl who was arrested for having an intimate relationship with her underage girlfriend, was sent back to jail Monday after allegedly continuing contact and sexual relations with her girlfriend since her arrest in February.

Hunt met the girl in her high school but was arrested when the younger girl’s parents told police about the 19-year-old’s relationship with the 14-year-old girl. The case has gained national attention because many claim the younger girl’s parents only contacted police about the relationship because it is homosexual.

She was charged with two felony counts of lewd and lascivious battery and was banned from contacting the girl. According to CNN, prosecutors offered Hunt two plea deals, one which would have led to her being able to avoid jail time and not be registered as a sex offender.

The younger girl’s father found over 20,000 text messages exchanged between the two girls after Hunt was banned from contacting her, along with nude photos of Hunt.

Daily Mail reports that the younger girl told police that Hunt continued to contact her and that they had sexual relations as late as July.

Now, Hunt could face further charges for violating the terms of her pre-trial release.
