I have been an avid drinker and enjoyer of Grey Goose Vodka for many years now. The company was kind enough to send me samples of their Cherry Noir Vodka, Le Citron, along with their classic Grey Goose. They also included 3 of their recommended fresh-pressed drink recipes. On a warm summer night last week, my husband and I put the kids to bed early and put our basement bar to work.
Grey Goose Pressé
Inspired by a popular French café cocktail, this bold blend combines the World’s Best Tasting Vodka with fresh lemon and sugar
Ingredients:
1 ½ parts Grey Goose Vodka
¾ part fresh-pressed lemon juice
1 ½ tsp sugar
1 part club soda
Method: With a citrus press or squeeze of the hand, press lemon to release juice into a glass filled with ice. Add Grey Goose Vodka and sugar. Stir vigorously and top with club soda. Present with lemon and a sprig of mint.
Thoughts: Grown up carbonated lemonade. And I say that in every way a GREAT way. This was light and refreshing and every bit of what summer nights should be. My first one I found that the sugar did not mix in the glass so I made another one, but this time using a few drops of boiling water to melt the sugar into my own simple syrup to add to the mix. For me, it was perfect! In a few weeks, we will be having our own block party and my husband and I joked about setting up our own “lemonade stand” to serve it to our friends!
Grey Goose Le Citron Paradise Pressé
The crisp taste of Grey Goose Le Citron Flavored Vodka mingles with fresh orange juice and strawberries to create a delicious summer blend.
Ingredients:
1 ½ parts Grey Goose Le Citron Flavored Vodka
¾ parts fresh-pressed orange juice
½ tsp sugar
2 fresh-pressed strawberries
1 part club soda
Method: With a citrus press or squeeze of the hand, press orange to release juice into a glass filled with ice. Add Grey Goose Le Citron Flavored Vodka, sugar and strawberries. Stir vigorously, and top with club soda. Present with strawberries and a sprig of basil.
Thoughts: Simple, classic, and overly refreshing. The tart of the citrus vodka is offset and complimented with the sweetness of the fresh orange juice and strawberries. Do not try and cut corners and buy orange juice from the container. You will only be doing yourself an injustice. Spend the extra time and work the orange for the fresh squeezed variety. It says it all in the name. This drink truly is “paradise”.
Grey Goose Cherry Noir Citrus Cherry Pressé
The sweet essence of black cherries fuses with fresh lemon and sugar to create this delicious summer staple.
Ingredients:
1 ½ parts Grey Goose Cherry Noir Flavored Vodka
¾ part fresh-pressed lemon juice
1 ½ tsp sugar
1 part club soda
Method: With a citrus press or squeeze of the hand, press lemon to release juice into a glass filled with ice. Add Grey Goose Cherry Noir Flavored Vodka and sugar. Stir vigorously, and top with club soda. Present with lemon, cherry and a sprig of rosemary.
Thoughts: There is something to be said about a drink with the freshest of ingredients. You can taste the quality of each and every ingredient that is fresh-pressed into the glass. The contrast of the lemon and the Cherry Noir are so different but so right for one another.
This was my first time sampling the Grey Goose Cherry Noir as well as first time having fresh-pressed drinks. This certainly will not be my last. I will be enjoying these drinks for many summer (and winter, spring and fall) nights to come! For more drink recipes Grey Goose has to offer, please check out their website at www.greygoose.com
