Harry Styles counts Taylor Swift as one of his exes, and she happens to be one of the most famous singer/songwriters in the world. She’s notorious for writing songs about her exes, such as Joe Jonas, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and more.
As a result, One Direction’s Styles admitted that he is fully prepared for a song to be written about him.
"It would be hypocritical for me to say she couldn't do it because everybody writes songs based on personal experience," he told Us Weekly. "I can't say I'd have dated someone less famous to avoid it."
Styles and Swift dated for just a few months and broke up in January. He added of the silver lining in the situation, "at least she's a great songwriter!"
He also has no regrets about dating someone as famous as Swift, saying “I couldn't say I want to date someone less famous because of the hassle. You like who you like.”
In terms of a girl he’s looking for, Styles wants someone with a “cute laugh and a good smile,” but also "Someone with a cute laugh and a good smile," he reveals. "Someone you can have fun with - I like someone who's up for doing stuff in terms of like, trying new things and going out new places. Not just someone who does nothing and wants to sit around."
It seems if a Swift song were to come out about Styles, he would take it much better than John Mayer did – who was the subject of 2010’s “Dear John.”
He told Rolling Stone after it came out he was “humiliated.”
“I didn't deserve it. I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do,” he said.
