Avicii, is a Swedish DJ, remixer, and record producer. His latest single “Wake Me Up” has climbed to the number one spot on the iTunes chart. The single was composed in his Malibu, California home and features Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger.
According to KROQ, there were mixed reactions from fans at the Ultra Music festival. Many found it trivial to hear and the combination of bluegrass, rock, with Avicii’s high energy dance beats.
About the single Einziger told Radio.com, “It doesn’t matter how many times you write a song, for people to respond to it in such a drastic way is never expected. It’s never expected in Incubus, and it was not expected with this collaboration with Avicii and Aloe [Blacc, whose vocals are featured].”
“Wake Me Up” has a unique but addictive sound. It has catchy lyrics, “So wake me up when it's all over/ When I'm wiser and I'm older,” that blends perfectly with Avicii’s musical genius and jam-packed beat. The soulful bluegrass sound offsets the high energy but will have you swaying your hits to music.

#TRUE that is expected to be released on September 27. Once Incubus fans found out that Einziger was collaborating with Avicii they quickly paid attention to the new track. The idea of Einziger working with Avicii dumbfounded them since they music was a completely different scene from Incubus.
Einziger also addressed the questions about his unlikely collaboration with Avicii. He said, “Over the last six or eight months that Incubus has been on hiatus, I’ve been writing lots of music with lots of different people, the connection that Avicii and I have with each other was unexpected. I think it was surprising to a lot of people that know me and also know him. We seem to operate in what seems to be different musical universes but when we got together the way that we started writing together, it couldn’t have been more organic and effortless.”
