Israelis quietly go about their day, but in the back of their minds they are worried about a possible attack from Syria should the United States attack Syria.

Director General Hossein Sheikholeslam of the Iranian parliament’s International Affairs Bureau said, “No Military attack will be waged against Syria,” Fox News reports. “Yet, if such an incident takes place… the Zionist regime will be the first victim of a military attack on Syria.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded that they would act “with force” if Syria makes a move against Israel.

The anxiety between Israel and Syria comes as the United States and allies hinted that they might attack President Bashar Assad as a response because Syria gassed rebels and denied it, according to USA Today.

Syrian Baath national council member Halef al-Muftah said that Israel is seen as being “behind the aggression and therefore it will come under fire.”

“We have strategic weapons and we can retaliate. Essentially, the strategic weapons are aimed at Israel.”

Israel is preparing itself by putting Patriot anti-missile batteries located in Haifa aimed towards the north and on alert should anything happen.
