Born in Santa Monica, California, Black entered UCLA to study drama in college. However, he dropped out to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He took on many small roles until he landed a role in a major hit film, High Fidelity. He has also guest starred on many television series such as, Will & Grace, iCarly, and Community. He has hosted many award shows because of his likable and comedic personality.
Black opened up to People about his marriage to wife, Tanya Haden in 2006. They both met at their Crossroads high school and eloped that year. Tanya is a triplet and a musician. She released an acappella cover album of The Who Sell Out. The couple now has two sons, Samuel Jason and Thomas David Black.
