Justin Timberlake says he had an hour-long talk with Kanye West at the MTV Video Music Awards and discussed his jab at Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie” collaboration with West’s good friend Jay-Z.

"Man I got love for Hov, but I ain't f---ing with that 'Suit & Tie,'" West said at one of his shows, but Timberlake doesn’t mind one bit.
"It doesn't matter," he told MTV’s Sway during his Shade45 radio show.

"It was one of them things where I love it, in a way, because at the end of the day it's just music," he said. "I love the record, I love 'Suit & Tie.' It reminds me of the music I grew up listening to. I respect his opinion because I think he's a genius. But I don't share that opinion. It's just not that big a deal."

Timberlake went on to say he thinks West is a “genius” and loves his album Yeezus. He even hopes to collaborate with him one day.

"He [Kanye] said the exact perfect thing, which was, 'The best way I know how to do that is just for us to sit down and play music,’” adding, “I feel like I understand what he's doing. I love Yeezus. I love that album. I feel like I understand what he's doing. I think he's ahead ... of a lot ... all the time."

Timberlake also defended Miley Cyrus’ VMA’s performance earlier this week, saying “It’s not like she did it at the Grammys.”
