Justin Timberlake stars in Runner Runner with Ben Affleck, so he’s going to have to field a lot of questions about his opinion on Affleck playing Batman. The singer said he’s looking forward to the Man of Steel sequel and he’d love to play a villain.
Timberlake chatted with Fresh 102.7 earlier this week. “Ben Affleck as Batman, I like it,” he told the Jim & Kim morning show. “I worked with Ben last summer and I’ve seen his process. I think he’s a brilliant filmmaker. I think he’s an extreme talent so he could surprise a lot of people.”
According to E! News, Timberlake was also asked if he’d ever want a role in a DC comics movie, specifically Robin.
“Not a chance in hell,” he said. “I ain't playin' Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie.” Instead, he’d rather be a villain.
“I’ll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funny enough, is the Riddler. The Riddler is my favorite villain.”
"The Riddler was like a sociopath," the “Suit & Tie” singer added. "He was proper crazy. So if I'm gonna play crazy, I'm wanna play proper crazy."
Timberlake said he’s “ready” and just waiting for the call.
The Riddler was last played on screen in 1997’s Batman Forever, with Jim Carrey in the part. Since Affleck is playing Batman in the sequel to Man of Steel, it’s assumed that Lex Luthor will be the villain, so Timberlake may have to wait a little longer for the call.
Runner Runner hits theaters on Oct. 4.
