It is no secret that Kate Hudson has been modeling as the gorgeous face of Ann Taylor, in her latest shoot, some new models helped to create the 2013 ads.
To embrace the fall themes of Hudson’s role as a working actress, model, and stylish mother rolled into one, her nephews Wilder, 5 ½, and Bodhi, 3, joined her on set.
“This campaign is my favorite so far. It’s a glimpse into my life and the full, busy lives women live every day,” Hudson told People. “We are constantly striving for balance. We want to excel at our jobs, be there for our families and look and feel fabulous doing it.”
Oliver Hudson, Kate’s brother allowed the boys to participate in the advertisements, laughing and playing with Kate and cooking in the kitchen with her. The focus is really about Kate’s balance of her corporate and domestic world, and how she maintains her life happiness within each.
Hudson explained, "It's a little bit about how I live and a lot about how women live every day," according to The Huffington Post. "As working moms, we're all just figuring it out as we go, right? But if I were to offer my advice, I'd say, try to be present. When you’re at your job, be 100 percent committed to it and do the very best you can. And when you go home at night, leave all the work behind and show up completely for your family. That’s the best part of your day, so really be there."
The advertisements, shot by photographer Mikael Jansson, include quotes such as, "We live, work, and play in the moment," and, “We love the classics, but break with tradition.”
They celebrate the overextended mother within Hudson and how strong and fabulous she always is despite her demanding career and home life. It is interesting that Ann Taylor did not ask Kate to use her own children – Ryder, 9 ½, and Bing, 1, - as mini models, but her nephews certainly are not camera shy and light up the shots.
“My brother brings my nephews over to my house a lot, and all the kids get along so well,” Hudson said. “We have a very, very close family, so for them to be here today and enjoy this process with me and to be able to see them on Madison Avenue in these pictures is going to be a lot of fun.”
