Katy Perry has scored another big hit with “Roar” and the track has been picked to close the MTV Video Music Awards this weekend. Perry has also joined Pepsi and MTV for a unique promotion during the broadcast, which will unveil a new track from her album Prism before its October release.

USA Today reports that Perry will perform the hit single at an unknown spot in Brooklyn. The awards show itself is being broadcast live from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, starting at 9 p.m. Eastern Sunday. Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and Robin Thicke are among the other performers. Lady Gaga is set to open the show with her new single.

Perry fans will also want to keep their smartphones handy during the next few days to send out tweets to take part in a unique promotion with Pepsi and MTV. According to Billboard, the singer’s fans are being urged to tweet with the hashtag #KATYNOW to reveal clues that will help unlock one of two tracks from Prism early. The clues will include song lyrics, videos and surprises from Perry herself.

On Saturday, Pepsi will start streaming samples of the songs at Pepsi.MTV.com and fans can pick which song will be released as the next single on Sept. 17.

Pepsi’s also giving away “Roar” downloads to anyone who registers for the Pepsi Experience Points program.

Perry is also closing London’s iTunes Festival on Sept. 30.
