Just days after telling Ryan Seacrest that she is “so over” wedding planning, Kelly Clarkson has opted to ditch the big time wedding plans and elope.
Clarkson sat down with People where she explained that the wedding planning became too much so finally she and fiancé Brandon Blackstock decided to make their nuptials simple and just elope.
“We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, 'So, we change our minds and we want to elope.' We just got so overwhelmed by it – all the decisions,” she explained of her originally planned fall wedding.
"We sent out a save-the-date to everyone and then it got crazy and all the details were leaking,” she continued. The season 1 American Idol winner finally opted the other night to scrap the plans and send out a card saying, “Thank you so much for understanding, but it's just going to be me and Brandon and his two kids and the minister,' "
Clarkson announced her engagement to Blackstock, who is also int he music business, in December.
