Lady Gaga is using reverse psychology to promote her upcoming album, ARTPOP.
In the video promo, Gaga is seen wearing a plastic face mask, saying nothing at all. Instead she allows he subtitles to do the talking for her in the 45 second video.
"If you don't like pop music, you should turn this off,” the subtitles read with a series of ‘boos’ heard in the background. “Lady Gaga is no longer relevant.”
“Ever since Born This Way, she’s a flop,” the video reads. "DO NOT buy her new single 'Applause' on iTunes…Give her no A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E. DON'T dance to the song at all,” the promo continues as Gaga pulls the straps tighter on her face mask. Then the video goes black and states, “DO NOT buy ARTPOP on November 11.”
This is Gaga’s latest promotional step in anticipation of her upcoming album. She recently posed for limited edition V Magazine covers. Prior to that, Gaga was seen nude promoting the abramovic method.
Her latest single, “Applause,” was released earlier this week after snippets of the song were leaked online.
