Rumors have been flying that Justin Timberlake, the recipient of the Vanguard Award at this Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, was going to be reuniting with his ‘NSync bandmates for a special performance.
So far, Timberlake and the rest of the boy band have stayed mum on the rumors – until now. Lance Bass has addressed them, but neither confirms or denies it.
He said, "Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we’re going to be there performing, but this is exactly how it happened and I knew these rumors were going to fly,” Perez Hilton reports. He added, "It’s amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media [and] how many people are supporting *NSYNC.”
If it does happen on Sunday, it will likely be a surprise and won’t be confirmed ahead of time. A source told Us Weekly that producers have been "trying to make it happen.”
The band’s last televised performance was 10 years ago, when they sang a Bee Gees tribute at the 2003 Grammys. Their last known performance was in 2004, when they sang the "Star Spangled Banner" at the Annual Challenge for Children.
