Lance Bass addressed reports that fans will see an ‘NSync reunion this Saturday during his radio show, “Dirty Pop with Lance Bass.” Bass called the rumors “cute” all the while denying that a reunion would occur.

Rumors that the popular boy band would perform at the MTV Video Music gained momentum this week. Timberlake will be on hand to perform, receive the Vanguard Award and is nominated in six categories.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Bass debunked the rumors explaining, “I have to address the rumors…this morning I woke up to a lot of rumors flying [around] that the ‘NSYNC reunion is happening after eleven years at the VMAs this Sunday.”

“Well, let me tell you how this all came about,” he continued. “Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson [Video] Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we’re going to be there performing, but this is exactly how it happened and I knew these rumors were going to fly.”

Bass explains that the rumors really began to circulate after fellow ‘Nsync members Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Bass went to Timberlake's concert at the Sun Life Stadium. “I think that’s what started the rumor that there’s going to be this big reunion with ‘NSYNC,” Bass notes. Adding that “it’s amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media” to see how fans are still supporting the idea of a reunion. He adds that “it’s so cute to see how many people are supporting [us].”

Reports that the group would reunite on stage were never confirmed.
