If Oprah Winfrey thought Lindsay Lohan was going to bring the OWN network the kind of attention Lance Armstrong or Whitney Houston's family did, she was wrong. Less than a million viewers tuned in to to the first broadcast to see Lohan get asked again if she’s finally ready to put her life back together.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first airing of Lohan’s interview at 9 p.m. drew 892,000 viewers. It only drew a 0.66 rating in OWN’s target demographic, women 25-54.
The repeat at 10 p.m. had 504,000 viewers and a 0.5 rating in OWN’s key demo.
TheWrap does note that the 1.8 million total over two airings is up 7 percent in viewers and 6 percent in the demo compared to the average Oprah’s Next Chapter episode. However, it’s far less than the 3.2 million viewers who saw Armstrong admit to doping in January and the 3.5 million who saw Oprah’s meeting with Houston’s family last year.
During the interview, Lohan opened up about her drug use and childhood. The interview came after her release from another rehab stint. She even admitted that she used cocaine “10 to 15 times.”
OWN is also airing a mini reality series on Lohan’s life as the troubled actress tries to land on her feet once again.
