George Clooney will be back in theaters this fall, starring in and directing Monuments Men, an all-star World War II dramedy about a team that tries to stop Nazis from destroying priceless art in Europe. The first trailer for the film was released on Thursday.

In the trailer, Clooney explains to his co-star, Matt Damon, how the plan will work. He’ll recruit art experts from Europe and the U.S. to go into Germany and rescue priceless art from the clutches of the Nazis. The point is to try to save a whole generation’s culture from being lost to history. They also have to make sure that American soldiers know not to destroy art as well.

Aside from Damon and Clooney, the all-star cast includes Cate Blanchett, John Goodman, Bull Murray, Hugh Bonneville and John Goodman. According to Deadline, the film is currently scheduled for Dec. 18.

Clooney was away from the big screen last year, but still won an Oscar in February as co-producer for Ben Affleck’s Argo. In addition to Monuments Men, he’ll also be seen with Sandra Bullock in Gravity, which opens on Oct. 4.
