Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ 13-year marriage is reportedly on the rocks. The couple hasn’t commented on spending so much time apart lately – they haven’t been seen together since April – but sources close to them say they’re taking a time-out.

"They're taking a break," a source told People, adding neither the Behind the Cadelabra star, 68, or his wife, 43, plan to file any divorce or legal separation papers.

“The stress has taken a toll on their marriage,” said the insider about Douglas’ throat cancer and Zeta-Jones’ bipolar II disorder.

The couple has two kids; Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10. Zeta-Jones has been vacationing with the kids without her husband and most recently, he’s been vacationing on a yacht off the coast of Sardinia without her.

USA Today notes they started spending time apart after Douglas got back from the Cannes Film Festival in May.

“They want the best for their kids, no matter what happens,” an insider said.
