Miley Cyrus walked the red carpet with her fiancé Liam Hemsworth on Thursday night for the premiere of his new movie Paranoia. It was the first time they put a united front on for the cameras on a red carpet in over a year.

Although they smiled for the cameras and stayed close, Cyrus wearing a Proenza Schouler dress and Celine shoes (with the 3.5-karat engagement ring he gave her last year) and Hemsworth wearing head-to-toe BOSS, they were reportedly “awkward” the entire night.

"Miley and Liam acted like they didn't even know each other the entire night," an onlooker told Us Weekly. "She was wearing her ring but they acted as if they were strangers."

They were seen engaging in some PDA but a witness said of the kisses, "they were awkward and he didn't seem into them."
Although his fiancé has a big presence on Twitter, which is reportedly one of the issues they fight about, Hemsworth said on the red carpet that it’s just not for him.

“On Twitter, I don't share anything personal. I try to keep as much of my personal life to myself. I don't feel the need to go out and show the world what's happening in my life every second," he said. "I think it's a good chance to connect with fans and give fans an inside look on films you do. I think it's great for that kind of thing, but it's very new to me."

Just Jared reports Paranoia, which also stars Johnny Depp’s girlfriend Amber Heard, hits theaters Aug. 16.
