Idaho authorities found missing California teen Hannah Anderson today.
San Diego authorities notified Hannah’s father that she was found safe.

"He was very relieved and very excited and looking forward to being reunited with his daughter," San Diego Sheriff William D. Gore told the Associated Press .

Gore said that an FBI agent shot and killed accused kidnapper James DiMaggio at approximately 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time near Morehead Lake, Idaho, CNN Wire reports.

A horseback rider saw Hannah and James hiking in the woods on Friday, but did not report them until several hours later because he did not realize that authorities were looking for them until he saw them on the news, the Associated Press reports.

Approximately 250 law enforcement officials were searching for Hannah and her brother Ethan.

"It truly was a joint effort, and I am pleased to stand here today and say that Hannah was successfully rescued and appears to be in pretty good shape," Gore told USA Today .
