Frank Ocean’s vocal chord tear was also confirmed, as was Toronto’s love for everything hip-hop, all at Drake’s OVO Fest that took place this past Sunday, August 4 and Monday, August 5th at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre.

Many were wondering why Drake and Lil Wayne have not been seen or heard together in some time, so Drake properly addressed that issue.

While preparing to bring out superstar Kanye West, he gave his own version of Kanye’s verse on the “Diamonds Are Forever “ remix, rapping “Yo, where Wayne at?/Nigga we both busy, I ain’t gotta explain that.”

The young rap star then proceeded to introduce G.O.O.D. Music’s leader Kanye West, saying, “What’s up with you and Ye’ man?/Are y’all ok man? You fucking right.” The beat to hit-single “New Slaves” dropped, and the crowd went crazy.

Upon conclusion of Kanye’s performance, easily the most crowd-pleasing of Monday night, Drake spoke some kinds words about Kanye West, who he called his “mentor” and “role model,” and told the crowd to “make some noise for the God that is Kanye West.”

Lil Wayne hit the stage amongst a slew of others, as everyone who is anyone in hip-hop hit the stage between Sunday and Monday.

Drake was even able to bring mogul Diddy and his 90s protégé Ma$e together, who had a bit of a fallout last year when Ma$e broke away from Bad Boy Entertainment upon his latest return to rap.

The two teamed up to perform classics like “Feel So Good” and “Mo Money Mo Problems.

Wale and James Blake were the opening acts for the festival on Sunday, and other guests included Big Sean, J. Cole, Miguel, French Montana, A$AP Rocky and TLC, who brought out Lil Mama to rap Left Eye’s verses in her memory, among others.

The OVO Fest took place the same week that Drake dropped two singles, “All Me” and “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” for his upcoming album “Nothing Was the Same” due September 17.
