A new exhibit honoring Grace Kelly will be held at a Philadelphia museum in October.
On Thursday, it was announced at the Hotel Monaco, the James A. Michener Art Museum would have the exhibit, according to UPI.
“She had her Philadelphia roots with her wherever she went, from Hollywood to Monaco,” said Grace Kelly’s nephew Christopher Le Vine when he spoke at the Thursday’s conference.
According to Inquirer, the exhibit is called “From Philadelphia to Monaco: Grace Kelly—Beyond the Icon.” Said things to be displayed are several of her keepsakes including kept love letters, photos, and the dress she wore to accept her Academy Award.
Her son, Albert is scheduled to attend the opening.
“I hope that through experiencing this exhibition you will be able to get a real glimpse Grace Kelly, the woman beyond the icon, my mother,” said Prince Albert II in a video message.
Grace Kelly was born in Philadelphia in 1929. She once performed at the Bucks County Playhouse in the 1950s. After winning the Academy Award for leading actress in 1955, she gave up acting to marry Prince Rainier III of Monaco. She gave birth to three children before dying in a car accident in 1982.
