New evidence around Princess Diana are being looked at after British police received more information about her death.
According to CBS, the British police are examining and looking at the relevance and credibility of the information. The information came from a soldier’s in-laws who passed it to the Royal Military Police.
ABC News reports the information claimed the British Special Air Services murdered Princess Diana and Dodi al Fayed. While police have not commented on the information, they will not re-open the case.
“This is not a re-investigation and does not come under Operation Paget,” Scotland Yard officials said in a statement.
Operation Paget looks at the conspiracy theories around Princess Diana’s death. Since her death in 1997, theories have been made, including that Prince Charles plotted the accident.
Police have been investigating Princess Diana’s death for 11 years, costing around $7 million.
In 2008, a jury ruled the deaths as unlawful due to the driver’s reckless driving and alcohol consumed. Al Fayed’s father, Mohamed, has insisted his son was murdered but lost his case in court.
No more information has been released by police.
