A man in New York was arrested after he tried to sell his girlfriend’s baby on Craigslist.

Paul Marquez 23, of Staten Island, was arrested after he tried to sell a two-month old baby after the mother, 19, was not paying enough attention to him. CBS News reports the ad listed the infant for $100 on the baby and kids section of the website.

Marquez was charged with misdemeanors of harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. He pleaded not guilty, but had to pay a $1,000 bail.

Yahoo News reports, he admitted to submitting the post twice, after the first was flagged, during the court trial Tuesday.

“The reason I decided to put this post was because I got bored and wanted to get a little laugh and a little kick out of it,” Marquez said to police.

He met the baby’s mother online and dated a few times.

The mother reported the post to authorities after one person called the contact information given from the advertisement, which was the mother’s cell phone. Police are investigating whether the call was a serious offer for the infant or a concerned viewer.
