Bo Obama gets a sister! The White House recently adopted Sunny, whom Michelle Obama named for the dog's cheerful personality.

Sunny, like Bo, is a Portugese Water Dog, so the Obamas don't have to worry about the allergies in the family. She was born last June in Michigan, reports the Daily News

Bo, who was adopted by the Obamas soon after Obama won the presidency in 2008, won't be lonely anymore. He'll have Sunny now to share the responsibility of Walter Reed and Children's National Medical Center visits, the White House holiday decoration inspections, greeting tourists and the annual Easter Egg Roll.

In fact, the White House blog reports that “Sunny is the perfect little sister for Bo – full of energy and very affectionate.”

Not only will Sunny be a great little sister for Bo, but she will also be a great addition to the first family. “We suspect Sunny will follow in Bo’s footsteps and keep the President company in the Oval Office, go for walks with the First Family after their 6:30 family dinner and even jump up on the First Lady’s lap from time to time!” says the blog.

The Obamas are also donating to the Washington Humane Society in honor of Sunny.

Obama took to Twitter to welcome the puppy, saying “Welcome to the family, Sunny.”
