Ahead of their 3D concert film This Is Us, One Direction held a press conference to promote it with the film’s director Morgan Spurlock.
Spurlock, who has spent the past several months on tour with the band, said he wanted the opportunity to be involved in this project because it’s the most similar to “Beatlemania” than he will ever get to see.
“This is probably the closest I’ll get in my whole lifetime to seeing anything similar to Beatlemania,” he said at the North London conference.“The access we got, the stories we tell, I just think it’s remarkable,” The Mirror reports.
The band, which consists of former X Factor contestants Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan will give fans a glimpse into their world.
Spurlock marveled, "I mean this is such a massive global phenomenon and it’s only growing. It was incredible to witness and see.”
When asked if there was any rock ‘n’ roll moments like sex or drugs in the film, Styles laughed “this is a family press conference!” but Tomlinson admitted, “[We like to think we're rock and roll but we're not really,” Hello Magazine reports.
In making the final cut, Styles also admitted it was difficult to get “five people's personalities” across in it, but Spurlock remains happy with it, saying “this is some of the best concert 3D I've ever seen in my life."
