One Direction performed Friday morning on the Today show in front of some 18,000 fans!

The band, which includes British heartthrobs Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and newly engaged Zayn Malik, performed such hits as “Kiss You,” “What Makes You Beautiful,” and “Best Song Ever.” The boys also took a moment to sit down and discuss their movie, This is Us which hits theaters in America Aug. 30.

“We wanted to really give (fans) behind-the-scenes access," Niall explained.

"It's also about our families as well, the way they deal with us being away from home," Liam adds.

Malik didn’t give fans much information about his newly engaged status, but did not that he and his fiancé Perry Edwards are “really happy. And, yeah, that's it."

One Direction made their American debut on the Today show back in March 2012 and paid a visit to the set once again later that year. However, the boys revealed that their handful of interview with Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie somehow did not make the cut into the movie.
"We didn't have anything to do with that!" Liam exclaimed laughing. "We asked for it!”

Check out the boys’ performances in the videos below.
