Panic! at the Disco’s drummer Spencer Smith wrote a post on the band’s website about his addictions.

Smith has been absent during the promotion of the band’s upcoming album Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!, set to release on Oct. 8 MTV reports. He only made a short appearance in the band’s new video for “Miss Jackson.”

Smith finished up treatment for the use of alcohol and prescription pills. In the opening paragraph of the letter Smith said, “For the past four-and-a-half years I’ve been battling addiction. Well, to be honest, I’ve really been battling it for the last tow years . . . In reality, I was mostly stumbling through my life hoping no one noticed I was high.”

Smith said he checked himself into rehab with the support of his bandmates, girlfriend, family, and friends last fall and has been sober since Fuse reports.
