D23, Disney’s own convention, is underway and during today’s panel, Pixar unveiled the first information on The Good Dinosaur since the title and 2014 release date was announced.

The Good Dinosaur is set in a world where an asteroid missed the earth 65 million years ago and dinosaurs didn’t go extinct, reports Entertainment Weekly. The main characters are members of a Apatosaurus family, who work fields as farmers for their fellow herbivores. Like a typical Pixar film, the voice cast will be filled with well-known stars, including John Lithgow and Frances McDormand as the heads of the family.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Saturday Night Live’s Bill Harder, How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris and The Descendants’ Judy Greer will voice their children.

The main character, Arlo, will be voiced by Lucas Neff, the current star of Fox’s Raising Hope.

Bob Peterson, a veteran story artist at Pixar, directed the film with Pete Sohn. The two, along with John Lasseter, showed off a clip of the movie at the convention.

The plot of The Good Dinosaur kicks into gear when Arlo discovers Spot, a little savage boy. Pixar will explore what would happen if dinosaurs did indeed meet savage humans.

“Spot is all alone in the world,” Sohn commented. “He’s not afraid of anyone – even a dinosaur 20 times taller than him.”

EW notes that Up director Pete Docter was also on hand to talk about Inside Out, the 2015 project that was once known as “Pixar’s Untitled Project That Takes You Inside the Mind.”

The Good Dinosaur hits theaters on May 30, 2014.
