Katy Perry’s performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday was so well received that the President of the United States actually sent her a tweet about it.

Perry, 27, performed her first single off of her new album Prism called “Roar,” the first time she has sang it live. She even showcased the boxer-themed performance under the Brooklyn Bridge.

President Obama tweeted Perry with the hashtag “#ROAR”:
Perry tweeted him back, playfully calling him “Prez”:

According to PopStopTV, Perry has been an advocate for President Obama since 2007. She even performed at a charity fundraiser alongside other big names such as Stevie Wonder, Bon Jovi, Earth, Wind & Fire and Jennifer Hudson.

Someone who likely won’t get a tweet from the President supporting their VMA’s performance is Miley Cyrus, who people just can’t stop talking about.
