Rapper Soulja Boy kicked off a plane for refusing to sit down

Rapper Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, was kicked off an American Airlines flight after causing a pre-flight disturbance.

TMZ reports that the 23-year-old “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” singer was asked to sit down by a flight attendant, but when he refused the attendant approached him and again ask him to sit down. After again refusing to sit, he was kicked off of the plane.

According to New York Daily News, Way released a statement to TMZ following the incident saying, “"It was a bad night and me and the flight staff didn't see eye to eye…In hindsight, I'm extremely sorry for all inconvenience caused to the passengers and employees of the airline."

Way’s flight incident is being compared to 30 Rock actor Alec Baldwin, who was kicked off a 2011 flight for refusing to turn off his cell phone because he was playing Words with Friends.

BET reports that Way isn’t the rapper to get kicked off a flight, Wale was kicked off a flight last month for refusing to turn off his phone.
