Robin Thicke burst onto the music scene over ten years ago, but today he was able to accomplish something that he never has before. Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” his sixth album, made it to number one on the Billboard 200.

“Blurred Lines” has sold 177,000, according to Neilsen SoundScan.

In 2008, Thicke’s third album, “Something Else,” reached the third spot on the Billboard 200 list, selling 137,000 copies. His 2011 album, “Love After War,” didn’t do quite as well, only making it to number 22 on the chart.

The number 2 spot on this week’s list goes to Five Finger Death Punch’s “The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell: Volume 1,” which sold 112,000 copies, over 60,000 away from Thicke’s number one spot. Jay Z’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” which debuted over a month ago, is still staying strong in the number three spot, selling 62,000 copies.

Tech N9ne’s “Something Else,” takes the number four spot with 58,000 albums, with the Backstreet Boys’ “In a World Like This,” rounding out the top five.

Hit Fix reports that album sales were up 9% as compared to last week, but down 3% when compared to this same week in 2012.
