A man in Sidney, Ohio got a nasty surprise when he opened the safe that be bought to store his rifles and shotguns.
He found 300 pounds of marijuana in a gun safe that he ordered online from a company called Sportsman’s Den. The safe was manufactured in Mexico and shipped to a warehouse in Ohio by a trucking company called Con-Way Trucking.
“Someplace between Mexico and the warehouse in Northern Ohio, the drugs got mixed up and put in the wrong safe and got delivered to the wrong person,” Sheriff John L. Lenhart told ABC News .
The truck driver is probably feeling a lot of heat right now. Not only do the police want to talk to him, but his drug connections likely want to have a few words with him, as well.
Local news station WDTN reports that the drugs have a street value of $420,000.
Local officials say that the man who bought the safe is not suspected of any wrongdoing, ABC News says.
