Sandra Bullock’s latest film, Gravity, premiered at the Venice Film Festival today.
Early reviews of the space-set drama have been positive, according to Vulture. Bullock chatted at a Venice Film Festival press conference about her experience making the film.
According to Deadline, the Oscar-winning Bullock said that Gravity was the “craziest, most bizarre, challenging thing” she’s done, “physically and mentally.”
“But you find what you’re made of because if you don’t do it, you’ve destroyed a beautiful story,” Bullock added.
Gravity, directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), features Bullock as Dr. Ryan Stone and George Clooney as Matt Kowalsky, astronauts who are stranded in space after debris destroys part of their space shuttle, according to Screenrant. Cuaron also wrote the script with his son, Jonas Cuaron.
Bullock told Deadline that she spent a lot of time filming in a 9X9 lightbox or “hanging from 20 foot ceilings” to help bring the space drama to life.
Gravity doesn’t hit U.S. theaters until Oct. 4, but check out a teaser trailer below.
