Sophia Grace Brownlee to play Red Riding Hood in 'Into the Woods'

After being noticed by Ellen DeGeneres, 10-year-old Sophia Grace Brownlee has risen to fame, so much that she has been given a role in the upcoming film Into the Woods.

Celebrity Gossip has reported that Brownlee will be playing Little Red Riding Hood in the Disney film adaptation of the musical, Into the Woods.

Brownlee is no newcomer to the camera. She has appeared numerous times on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and also acted as a guest star in the new spinoff series Sam & Cat.

Brownlee will acting alongside some of the most well-known household names today including Meryl Streep (who will be playing an evil witch), Anna Kendrick (Cinderella), Johnny Depp (The Wolf) and Emily Blunt (the baker’s wife). The plot, according to Entertainment Weekly, focuses on a Baker (James Corden) whose wife can’t conceive. They make a deal with the evil witch and journey “into the woods” where they face the rest of the fairytale characters.

The movie is expected to come out in December of 2014.
